Smiling

Little brother gazes the cell phone but big brother is ready for my camera shutter. This picture was taken in Kowloon City Garden while I was joining a local photographic competition and the title is "Smiling" held by Canon Camera Co.,  I have only a chance to shoot the two brother when I saw them playing. However I press the shutter early while big brother is still closing his eye.

Foreign workers are very common in Hong Kong. Two ladies are video phone with their families far far away. Interesting picture compare with the above brothers.

June Memories

Candlelight on June 4. I remembered I was one who standing in the rain at Victoria Park grassland on 20 May 1989. That day was typhoon no. 8 hoisted and some HK people were gathering to support the Beijing Democracy. Fifteen days later the Incident 64 happened. Time flies, 29 years past.

But once the candlelight is lit, people will never forget it. The power can't blow out a candle.

Passing the flame to the next generation.

Floating Colours

Every Year Cheung Chau (an island of Hong Kong) will hold a Peaceful Da Jiu Festival (another name is Peaceful Bun Festival). During the event, the most attractive moment is the "Floating Colours Parade" which requires kids propped up as modern celebrities or any traditional deities to reflect the city's hot topic. They balance on poles and accompanied by gongs and lion dance, appearing to float above the crowds. This little girl is pretending the Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR Ms Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor.

A boy pretends he is the Financial Secretary HK who has no idea to plan the budget year. Although HK has a huge sum of money to spend, he just keeps it as his own and unwilling to share them with public.
These two female characters are sport stars Woman God of Bicycle Lee Wai Sze and Four Eye Snooker Queen Ng On Yee. HK people are proud of them.
Funny movie character "Affair Lady"
Pak King

Bun Mountain, in the old day, locals climb to the top and scramble the buns and bring back home to share to their families and friends for luck and health all the year. Accident happened in 1978, the bun mountain collapse caused by hundred of people climb over it and hurt many.

Dried Fish Pond

Dried Fish Pond, shoot with Panasonic GF1 and pancake 20 1.7

This picture I took yesterday at Yuen Long Tai Sang Wai (大生圍).
Recently some big fish ponds need to make the soil fertile to breed new fish fry. Landowners pumping out the water and let the sun dry the soil. But this action is amazed by many city people especially the photography hobbist. The interest point is- there are many caves shape make you feel standing on the moon's surface.
